JGTC continues to gain attention with a new name and increasingly international format for the 2005 season. The birth of Super GT will give one of Japans most recognized touring car teams, Team Impul, a chance to show what they can do on a truly international stage. Impuls distinctive blue Calsonic Z had its baptism of fire in the 2004 season, putting in a solid allround performance and winning first place in the final stage of the series in Suzuka, Japan. Compared to the 2003 GT-R, the 2004 Nissan Z features a powerful 3 liter V6 twin turbo engine, improved chassis design, low center of gravity, wide tread, solid body and optimum front/rear weight distribution.
