In order to achieve optimum combat capability in sea areas with shallow water and limited space, particularly manoeuvrable vessels are needed. The 7th Fast Attack Squadron of the German Navy has ten highly-technical fast attack craft of the Gepard Class designed to meet these requirements. These craft are used as patrol vessels and for the protection of shipping and coastlines. For this they are equipped with four MM38 Exocet surface-to-surface missiles, one GDC RAM surface-to-air missile system and one 76 mm OTO-Melara gun. Driven by 4 diesel engines, these vessels reach a maximum speed of about 40 knots. This kit consisting of 148 individual parts is distinguished, among other things, by its authentic representation of all weapons systems, included the minelaying system.The decals enable all ten of the vessels expected to be in service up to 2021 tobe optionally represented.
